Can you believe that July is over?! And in 4 days my little ol’ blog turns one month old!!! *throws balloons and confetti* So with the end of a month comes a wrap up. I read 10 books this month! TEN! Yeah I can’t believe it either.
This post is in order from first read in July to last read!
Ruby Dixon’s Ice Planet Barbarian series books 2-5
I’ll link my review for books 1-5 here.
I absolutely loved this series. LIKE LOVE. This series is such a hidden gem that I’m so glad I read. I’m really looking forward to reading the rest of the series as well as RD other series, especially that Dragon one 😉
Maldeamores by Mara White
Blurb: Belén: I’ve loved Luciano ever since I can remember, desired him before I even knew what it meant. He’s always been the only man in my life—my constant protector, and his rejection only intensifies my need.
Luciano: I’ve never known a love more fierce than the one I feel for Belén. But I force myself to deny her no matter how much it hurts.
Our love is a sickness and both of us are infected.
Because there’s no cure for being from the same family.
Genre: Contemporary Romance/Erotica/Taboo
Rating: 3.5 stars. I really enjoyed this story! I brought me out of my comfort zone and sometimes, that’s exactly what you need.
Misbehaved by Charleigh Rose
Blurb: Remington Stringer has never been like most girls. She’s outspoken, brazen and wants nothing more than to escape the Nevadan hell hole that she calls home.
On the brink of eighteen, with a deceased mother and a well-meaning, yet absent father, she is forced to fend for herself. The only person she’s ever had to depend on is her borderline obsessive stepbrother, Ryan. But, what used to be her anchor is quickly becoming a loose cannon.
When Remi gets the opportunity to attend the best private school in the state during her senior year of high school, she jumps at the chance. Then she meets Mr. James. Ornery, aloof, and totally irresistible.
Most girls would swoon in secrecy.
Most girls would doodle his name with hearts in their notebook.
But Remi Stringer has never been like most girls.
Genre: New Adult/Contemporary/Taboo
Rating: 3.5 stars. I read a couple of taboo type books this month hehe. I really liked Misbehaved. Remi and Pierce were hot af, especially a certain scene in a dining room with a bottle 😉 *fans self*
The Unrequited by Saffron A. Kent
Blurb: Layla Robinson is not crazy. She is suffering from unrequited love. But it’s time to move on. No more stalking, no more obsessive calling.
What she needs is a distraction. The blue-eyed guy she keeps seeing around campus could be a great one–only he is the new poetry professor–the married poetry professor.
Thomas Abrams is a stereotypical artist–rude, arrogant, and broody–but his glares and taunts don’t scare Layla. She might be bad at poetry, but she is good at reading between the lines. Beneath his prickly façade, Thomas is lonely, and Layla wants to know why. Obsessively.
Sometimes you do get what you want. Sometimes you end up in the storage room of a bar with your professor and you kiss him. Sometimes he kisses you back like the world is ending and he will never get to kiss you again. He kisses you until you forget the years of unrequited love; you forget all the rules, and you dare to reach for something that is not yours.
Genre: Contemporary Romance/Taboo
Rating: ALL THE STARS. ALL OF THEM. I F*CKING LOVED THIS BOOK. That is all. Here’s my full review
Malentendido by Mara White
Blurb: Whatever force made Lucky, either God or the Universe, wrapped him so tightly around my heart that sometimes I’m suffocating. Biologically, we are made of too many similar parts, yet our chemistry is like a meteor shower, raining bright sparks of light into the dark night. But it’s not our biology or chemistry that worries me the most, it’s the physics of our love that goes against the cosmos.
Genre: Contemporary Romance/ Taboo
Rating: 4 stars! This is the sequel to Maldeamores and I loved it! I love Lucky and Bey and they’re story. I won’t say any more for fear of spoiling it but if you’re a fan of the forbidden, you need to read this series!
To Crown A Beast by R. Scarlett
Blurb: She tasted his sweetness, his power, and his love, and it destroyed him.
That iron heart has turned to ashes, leaving only a heartless beast.
One she vows to tame.
One she vows to save.
Before he rips her own heart out.
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Rating: 5 STARS!!!!! The finale to Tensley and Molly’s story and I’m still emotional about it *crying face* I loved it. It was everything I wanted. The perfect ending to a series I love so much ❤
And that’s it! Let me know if you decide to pick any of these books up! How many books did you read in July?
until next time – xo gabby
